You know JF, it's only you being so happy, cheerful and forward
looking that keeps me going. If you weren't so upbeat about
everything I'd get concerned.
Now, back in the real world...
You obviously haven't noticed over the past years that people who
started with Digital, kept going through Compaq and are now HP
employees are classed as being HP employees from when they started
back with Digital. "We are all one now". Of the folks I've spoken to
that have had experience in all three, employees are happy to be HP
employees now as the company understands the enterprise market. This
includes more than just VMS though.
The HP-UX guys no doubt have the same arguments as you. "Nobody talks
about HP-UX any more", "we have no marketing". HP aren't going to
plug the operating systems any time soon in my view. It's the brand
that counts. The brand brings the sales, the brand brings the money.
