Not so sweeping a statement. I simply couldn't find documentation on
the Rainbow format program. Back issues of DEC Professional don't
appear to be on-line, or at least aren't deeply indexed. Dave G. also
had the same memory. The 350 I found documentation about not being
shipped with a FORMAT utility. I didn't find confirmation about the
'bow not having a FORMAT program originally. Everyone has the "later"
documented, but it appears only a few of us remember back to when they
"first" came out. Memory isn't proof. Since I'm arguing with
academics who should be refunding tuition money instead of accepting
it, I wanted to put my hands on the original articals from DEC
Professional and that old DVorak (sp?) column from a different
magazine.

I didn't have all day to spend looking for the thing. I've got a lot
I'm trying to get done. I kill here when transfering files and
installing updates. I'm installing my last update tonight, so won't
have time to kill for days if not weeks.

Hopefully somebody else has a stash of DEC Professional back issues
(or a known on-line index site) where one can search for the articles
about when the Rainbow first came out. I distinctly remember the
article mentioning the 'bow, but all I could find given the 10 minutes
I had to search was information about the 350.
