I am now logged in and posting this through VMS ssh.  
(Well, from a Powerbook 170 that I am using as a terminal on 
the console port.)

It seems that the EFI shell knows how to read at least some file
systems.  It has a mount command, and a cd command.  If you
type the name of a file with the EFI extension, it will run
that file.  

First I found the disk I was planning to install onto,
which has an FAT file system with a few files.  That was
mounted as fs0:  Then the DVD was mounted as fs1:


Anyway, it is now running.  Now all I need are the layered
products, such as compilers...
