Just a tought :

Could Oracle eventually displace HP as #2 behind IBM ?

When you look at enterprise systems, looks to me like an Oracle/Sun
combinations would have a better image/credibility than HP whose focus
is more at the volume consumer markets.


Consider the possiility that HP will drop its own enterprise OS. That
would leave  Solaris and AIX/MVS from IBM as well as Linux as mainstream
enterprise OS. If Oracle doesn't do much business with IBM, then it can
now afford to buy Sun and compete head to head against IBM.
