These EV7-based systems are very nice and certainly the fastest Alpha 
systems ever made, but at this point in time, based on what I see at 
customer sites, they are no longer comparable in speed to current 
Itanium boxes for most customers' applications.

We've gone through the Merced, McKinley, Madison, Montecito and Montvale 
generations of Itanium (with Tukwila imminent and Poulson and Kittson on 
the way), and EV7 performance was comparable as of around the 
McKinley/Madison timeframe.
