Not to get into the exact management structure, but the compiler teams have 
sometimes been independent of OpenVMS (certainly back in the Visual Fortran 
days and when we had lots of Tru64 products and Alpha Linux products) and 
we've also been in the VMS mangement chain.  Regardless of who I report to, 
I've always considered myself part of the overall VMS engineering foodchain 
(26+ years and counting).
