It's not more different from other Unices than, say,
Solaris is from HP-UX is from Tru64.
It matches SUS requirements and last time I checked
had better security certificates than VMS.
Its "differences" are usually improvements.
I.e. JFS, LVM, disk mirroring, smit,
were available as early as 1990 and have saved
me a lot of time and headaches.
