HP Names David Donatelli Executive Vice President, Enterprise Servers, Storage
and Networking
PALO ALTO, Calif., April 28, 2009
HP today announced that it has appointed David Donatelli to serve as executive
vice president, Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking, effective May 5.
Donatelli will report to Ann Livermore, executive vice president of the
Technology Solutions Group at HP, and lead the development of HP's
industry-leading server, storage and networking solutions.
His responsibilities will include the Enterprise Storage and Server (ESS)
business unit, which had fiscal year 2008 revenues of $19.4 billion. This
business unit contains Business Critical Systems, Industry Standard Servers,
StorageWorks, ESS Infrastructure Software and Blades.
In an associated move, the HP ProCurve Networking business will also be part of
Donatelli's responsibility. Marius Haas, senior vice president and worldwide
general manager of HP ProCurve, will report to Donatelli. As the future of
computing moves toward converged platforms of servers, storage and networking,
this combination accelerates the drive for efficiency and innovation, as well
as increases the value customers receive from HP's infrastructure solutions.
"I am pleased to have David join the HP leadership team," said Mark Hurd, HP
chairman and chief executive officer. "He will be a key contributor in driving
growth and innovation for HP."
A 22-year high-tech veteran, Donatelli joins HP from EMC Corporation, where he
was president, EMC Storage Division. In this role he was responsible for the
EMC storage platforms and related software businesses.
"David is an experienced business executive with a track record of driving
growth and innovation," said Livermore. "I look forward to what the team will
accomplish under his strategic leadership."
Donatelli replaces Scott Stallard, who after 34 years, is retiring from HP.

I have no idea what, if anything, this actually means for VMS, but last I
looked his domain is "everything I ever buy from HP" (since I'm not responsible
for printers or ink).
