At one point, I had performance problem with my ISP. I started to do FTP
transfers on my VMS machine to see what sort of throughput I would get
(ctrl-T gives you current throughput). It would not exceed 40KB/s
(3200kbps). On my Mac, with the same link , ftping to the same site,
the throughpit used the full line's capabilities.
The VMS side had gotten tweaks to increase window size and buffers, the
mac had not. And this was an Alpha DS10.
