HP released some numbers on tuesday,
http://h30261.www3.hp.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=71087&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1322129&highlight=
Services grew 93% as a result of integration of EDS. This means that EDS
is now roughly half of HP's service business, making VMS service revenus
even smaller relative to total size.
Enterprise Storage and Servers reported 23% drop in revenues.
Storage down 21%.
Midrange EVA down 23%
Industry standard server down 21%
Business Critical Servers down 30%
ESS Blade revenus down 14%.
ESS profit: 355 million, or 9.7% of revenue, down from 11.5% in prior real.
With VMS in india, I am not sure where VMS revenues goto now. (Since the
indians don't seem to report to BCS/ESS). But those IA64 things are
still within BCS/ESS, and IA64 showed a 30% drop in business.
The irony is that HP brags about outsourcing REVENUES. Would you
outsource to a company that doesn't use its own people and outsources to
India ?
