Supposing you solve the problem of displaying the barcode, be sure
they have the right type of scanner to read a screen.

Pen and laser type scanners shine light on the label, and depend upon
that light to be reflected back differently by the white background
than by the black ink. But the reflectivity of a screen is the same no
matter what is displayed on it, so pen and laser scanners will not
find the barcode.

They will need a scanner which uses ambient light (a CCD or camera
scanner).
