On June 25 2001, VMS resources were assigned to the porting effort to
that IA64 contraption. After that was done, the long term downsizing of
VMS began with multiple rounds of invisible layoffs. When folks like Mr
Hoff left, don't think he was the only one to go in that round. And
there were multiple rounds.
The problem wasn't with VMS support, the problem was with HP not
alolcating sufficient resources to get the job done.
Only time will tell how the new indian team will fare. Why only time ?
Because HP refuses to divulge whether total man hours devoted to VMS
decreased, increased or remained the same with the move to India.
