Is this the first patch issued since the demise of VMS engineering ? If
other patches were issued and worked well, then this may be more of a
glitch than the shape of things to come.

At least they withdrew the patch when they realised there was a problem.

Also, is this new functionality, or just patching of existing stuff ?

It is also important to remember that the extensive test facilities that
existed in ZKO no longer exist. From what I have been told, only a
portion of the equipment was shipped to India.

It could be that they do not have enough equipment to test patches
sufficiently before release.

All this is moot because these distant people don't participate here and
hence, we'll never find out what is really happening.

Only time will tell if this is a trend or a glitch. And it could be that
given time, those glitches will become rarer and rarer. We don't know.
