Anything in that category should be released as open-source so that 
(perhaps, the few) customers who rely on it have some recourse without 
expense to HP (the main reason put forward for not porting).  Of course 
we all have a fair idea of the chances of that happening spontaneously. 
   Any stirrers with any clout out there?  It's not without some 
precedents it seems.
