Hi Christoph,

Your config strikes me as a little odd on VMS versions of the
SmartArray 5300A - you can't share spare disks around the LUNs
successfully on these cards.  It's one spare disk per LUN and one LUN
per spare disk.

This may be why you've seen a problem, though the array should still
present the disk with a RAID5 set losing one spindle assuming that all
of the others are still working properly.
