I've come across another problem. In order
to make sure my Disk drives on my Alpha are
alright and to make sure I can backup the data
I've used a spare SZ12 storage expansion box
and put one of the drives, a Seagate 36GB
narrow SCSI drive on a VAXstation 4000/96
running VMS V7.3. This drive was initalized
on V7.1-2 on the Alpha. Now, I figured that
moving a drive that was init-ed on one direct
scsi interconnect and connect it to another direct
scsi interconnect it would be readable with no
problems, however I get a "%MOUNT-W-INCONSIZE,
inconsistent number of blocks reported,
some data may not be accessible". An ANALYZE/DISK
shows lots of errors in a portion of the disk
(MAPAREA, ILLBLKNUM and LOSTHEADER) all of which
are localized to one directory. I have not
repaired the disk. Will a rebuild from mounting
the disk cause problems? I'll try and put the
drive on my XP1000 running 7.2-2. Any idea if
it would have the same INCONSIZE error?
