I think that any new VMS engineer need to earn his mark. You can't give
an individual full "VMS engineer" respect and rights just because HP
decided to make some person part of "VMS engineering".

Consider the portions of VMS that have been made "mature" and no longer
developped (TPU for instance). Some drone in india, who is considered
part of VMS engineering will recompile TPU for any new version of VMS
and test it. That does not command the same level of respect a someone
who has developped the file system, clustering, host based volume
shadowing etc.
