Hi John,
Thanks for the reply. (And to all the others)

Thankfully, one of the many kind and helpful souls here found one that works
for me.
(Let's hope everything still works when/if it gets here :-)
Cheers Richard Maher

I know it doesn't help you, RIchard, but for those in the US you can
get the drive from this seller's listing
http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-RX2600-Itanium-Server-DVD-Drive_W0QQitemZ390025439536
There only 3 left (as of 10:29AM EST 28-Jan-2009).
I bought 2 (Made a best offer of $30 each) and they came with the
clips and slid right into my 2 RX2600's without a hitch. What I did
was search on "(zx6000,rx2600) +(DVD*,optical)" and picked the best
of the results. Maybe you can find a seller that will sell to other
countries from that listing.
This listing is the same thing but $20 more, however, he has a
quantity (54) on hand. I have no experience with this seller.

This person may sell internationally given the information in the
listing.

My next step is to find a DVD-RW drive and swap the mounting and
interface bits and see if it will boot VMS so I can write DVD's also.
The standard RX2600 drive is a CD writer but only a DVD reader.
