A Karl Marx quote I stimbled across at: -
http://business.smh.com.au/business/they-should-have-listened-to-marx-20090130-7tlk.html
"The credit system, which has its focus in the so-called national banks and
the big-money lenders and usurers surrounding them, constitutes enormous
centralisation, and gives this class of parasites the fabulous power, not
only to periodically despoil industrial capitalists, but also to interfere
in actual production in a most dangerous manner - and this gang knows
nothing about production and has nothing to do with it,'' Marx's words
published 11 years after his death said.

Another OT (yet still interesting) Marx quote from the same smutt-rag:

To close on a lighter note then, here is a quote from Karl Marx in 1867:

"Owners of capital will stimulate the working class to buy more and more
expensive goods, houses and technology, pushing them to take more and
more expensive credits, until their debt becomes unbearable.

The unpaid debt will lead to bankruptcy of banks which will have to be
nationalized and the State will have to take the road which will
eventually lead to communism."

Now, I'm not a reader of Marx (unless it's broken up into tiny little junks
for the great unwashed :-) and lean to the right which is why I'm
particularly disgusted with what's going on in The States and here. And yes
I'm decreasing the COV signal-to-noise ratio with the second bit, but you
have to say the first quote is right on the money for VMS would you not?
