This does seem to be the case and I cannot justify spending the time
to sort it out when I have other solutions that will do what I want in
2 minutes.  Thanks all the same.  I've received some good, helpful
replies (as I usually do from this group) and some that were less than
useful (as usually happens on usenet as well)
