I bought one of those numerous rx2600s that have been on Ebay for a while.
It came with two empty drive sleds. I bought (from a different seller)
an HP 80 pin 1" high U320 SCSI drive. It came in a drive sled but the
"other" style sled (the black one with a purple tab) so I removed the drive
from it and installed it in an empty sled from the rx2600. It works fine.
IIRC the drive came with torx head screws fastening it to the drive sled,
expect to need a driver if you do what I did.
I also did something similar with the other sled and an old 80 pin SE SCSI
SCA drive, temporarily, in order to transfer VMS to the newer drive. Don't
do that permanently, it's much slower.
I don't know what to do for the noise.
