and this command is what? And how to interpret the output? (numbers?)

And there is no such parameter in the firmware to switch to allow the
system to complete the POST successfully even when no kbd attached?
(On earlier DEC3000/Alphas one had to shorten 2 pins on the kbd connector
to make this happen, later Alphas had a SRM parameter IIRC)

This may be to the fact, that a PS2->USB adapter isn't really one.
It only converts the connector. The (totally different) logic in the
kbd must be able to support USB and PS2. You can't use a simple/old PS2
keyboard with a PS2->USB converter (as it misses the logic for USB inside).
