created an NRG file and copied to VMS box... ~6hrs...

found a unix script to

dd if=.nrg of=.iso bs=4096 skip=75

and because I have the Cygwin shell, I had access to dd.

Copied over the .iso file
ld connect isofile lda10
mount/over=id lda10
Wooohoo.. got software disk..
