According to this assumption it would have to generate §3Bn of
revenues (not necessarily profit) to be viable.

Maybe none. HP sells a lot of x86 boxes with Linux,
with decent revenue and profits. It may turn out
that it is not worthwhile to continue with genuine BCS stuff.
