With a little magnification (courtesy of the Firefox extension Image
Zoom 0.3.1) it's clear that the ???? actually reads "GLI5". So the
sticker says, "Hewlett-Packard Company/Palo Alto GLI5 Library/(650)
857-3002.

Just out of curiosity I did a free reverse look up on the phone number
and got a latitude and longitude from Intelius.

Of course it's pretty unlikely that the current location of this phone
number has anything much to do with where it was located when that
sticker was printed.  The lat/long corresponds roughly to the block in
Palo Alto, CA, defined by University and Lytton Avenues and Kipling
and Cowper streets. I used to frequent University Blvd years ago when
I lived in Fremont, and the street scenes on Google Maps look quite
familiar.

HP has a lot of office space in the area, of course. Their Hanover
Street campus is less than three miles driving distance from these
coordinates.

I would guess that GLI5 was the code for a particular office or
facility. Someone who was around at HP Palo Alto in those days might
know which.
