The average age is probably relative high compared to most
other newsgroups.
And a significant portion of people are no longer working
with VMS in their day job.
And the number of people working with Fortran 77 two decades
ago were a orders of magnitude higher than the number of
people working with Fortran 95 today.
And very little of the current Fortran work is done
on VMS (I would expect huge Linux farms to be the
typical config).
