No, but it sure would be fun to find out!!

I always laugh when this item comes up (again and again and again).  Why?
Because Intel had o problem taking its wimpy architecture from 8 to 16 to
32 to 64 bits.  If a company as bad as that (remember, if IBM hadn't thrown
the PC in teir direction they would not even have remained in business more
than another year or two, tops) could do it with an architecure as bad as
the 80xx(x) surely a company like DEC could have not just matched them
but surpased them with VAX development.
