Multi-user general purpose operating system with both timesharing and
real-time features, good for server and desktop applications, fully
scaleable from desktop to mainframe, extreemely secure. Has single
system uptimes of up to 14 years, and share-everything cluster uptimes
(and application availability) of up to 17 years. Thats no crashes,
no reboots, ... for 14 to 17 years.

Multiple GUIs have been supported, currently X11 windows with CDE
as the "prefered" desktop.

A VAX 11/725? Seriously, it runs on VAX, Alpha, or Itanium platforms
and the specifics for each version can be found in the SPDs, which can
be found from the FAQ.

Yes.
Oh, ODS-1 (only on VAX), ODS-2, ODS-3 (ISO CD), ODS-4 (High Sierra CD),
and ODS-5 (only partially supported on VAX). NFS and applications
which transfer to/from FAT are available.
> Applications?
Thousands. Please see the vendor's publications.
