DEC MCS had several undefined positions which ISO-8859-1 defined.
In addition the upper/lower case "OE" ligature in MCS were replaced by
multiply/divide signs in ISO-8859-1, also Y with umlaut (or whatever
the proper name for the two dots is) was replaced with Y with acute
accent (and a lowercase only y umlaut was added to ISO-8859-1 in a
position undefined in DEC MCS)

They may have later redefined the "generic currency sign" as the Euro,
but I think that was a proposal that didn't make it.
