On My Alphastation 600AU, the CR2032 popped out and a new one went in as
easy as pie. Looked like that it was the first time it had ever been
replaced. Not bad for 12 years. CR2032 dead easy to get in UK.

I still cannot get over the ease of which one can extract the motherboard.
Flick, Flick, tug. No wonder these 'PC's ' were so expensive, compared with
today's high-end stuff they were sickeningly well-built. DEC built some of
their PC's too well for their own good.

I just wish I had snapped up the unreleased Windows 2000 Server version
for Alpha we had at work years ago, otherwise I would still be using it for
windows stuff (as well as OpenVMS and Tru64)
