Gerstner was not a bean counter. He was a leader. And he was smart
enough to know he didn't know tech that much and knew to rely on
MULTIPLE people for guidance. (this way, he would see the many sides of
a coin).
Capellas was nothing but a bean counter. No leadership, no vision.
Turns out that Palmer was the same except he wasn't even a good bean
counter, he was only good at negotiating bargain basement prices for
DEC's limbs to be sold and cutting staff and terminating software products.
