[Info-vax] Got my XP900 on my wireless network

Thanks to a suggestion from VAXman. For the record, the suggested
wet54g bridge is no longer available new, so I got the linksys wet610n
bridge. Although advertised for gamers, it works fine for general
purpose networking too.

Since I had a linksys router, I used the CD that came with it, but
didn't have to, hooking it up to my router and powering on gave it an
address from DHCP that I could use to get to the web management
interface. To summarize:

1) set wet610n to static address 192.168.1.51, mask 255.255.255.0,
gateway 192.168.1.1
2) hooked up to the alpha, set ip address there to 192.168.1.52, mask
and gateway same, dns to my ISP's
3) added alpha to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on PC's so can
access by name

Notes: router is 192.168.1.1 that is hooked to cable modem
static address outside of routers DHCP range
usual infuriating file permissions issue with Vista system
when editing hosts file

Waiting on my VMS 8.3 CD, hope it comes soon.

Thanks, Jim
