I am interested in it both as a backup solution, and a way to migrate
rarely used data onto cheaper storage.  My home server doesn't have a very
high I/O load.

Actually that makes me think of something else I'm curious about.  Has NFS
support changed any?  Does it allow for larger file sizes?  I was looking to
use Virtual Disks on an NFS share a couple years ago, but the allowed file
sizes was to small.
