What "errors occurred"??  Details might provide a clue as to what 
happened.  How about the full text of the error messages.  If you have 
it, post it.

I think several steps have been left out here!  What data is missing? 
How did it become missing?

Simply restoring the status quo ante leaves you vulnerable to the same 
or similar problems.
