I haven't gotten a real response from an HP Web feedback
form for months. And that was Tru64-related. I assume that
all the people who cared are long gone.

I know nothing, except, perhaps, how to ask the drive:

Cdrecord is available for many host system types.

It might pay to look at the actual drives to see if they
have real, non-HP model information. SYS$ETC:SCSI_INFO.EXE,
or something similar on another system type might offer some
clues to the actual drive identities. I buy only cheap junk,
so I know little-to-nothing about supported HP hardware.
