I haven't gotten a real response from an HP Web feedback
form for months. And that was Tru64-related. I assume that
all the people who cared are long gone.

Cdrecord is available for many host system types.
It might pay to look at the actual drives to see if they
have real, non-HP model information. SYS$ETC:SCSI_INFO.EXE,
or something similar on another system type might offer some
clues to the actual drive identities. I buy only cheap junk,
so I know little-to-nothing about supported HP hardware.
