You might be able to buy a replacement belt either from H-P or from the 
OEM.  If you can get a new one it will probably have been sealed in a 
plastic bag and though it may be old it should not have deteriorated 
very much.  If you expect to be using the drive for many long years you 
might want to get two or three replacements.
