It is neither snide nor racist to point out that VMS engineering is now
made up of a small core group of long timers, and a bunch of newbies
brough in to make up for the shortfall for the dismissal of the former
non-India engineers.
The newbies don't have loyalties to VMS, not much experience in it. I've
been told that there is a high turnover rate in that group, which means
that the core old timers must spend a greater amount of time contsntly
training new arrivals.
Lets not kid ourselves, the late release of 8.4 and reductioon of
features such as IPsec is due entirely to this change in engineering.
Whether this is a one time "ramp up" delay, or whether this represents a
permanent chance in engineering's ability to deliver new versions, I
don't know. Only time will tell.
