I'm using Anunews (about as ancient as it gets) on a VAX.  Both
JF's message and the Thunderbird test look just fine.  I agree
with VAXman that the QP stuff is the main problem.  I don't recall
ever seeing a post on COV where QP would have added anything of
value.
