Sexual harassement thing and misconduct. First may have been false, but
second appears to have been true. Whatever that means.

Will Ann Livermore take over ? Or will they seek an outsider ? Right
now, they put the accountant in charge (just as had happened with Compaq
when Pfeiffer was ousted).

They probably won't have too many problems attracting outside talent for HP.

Compaq's board had been unsuccesful in attracting oustide talent, so the
account got the job on a permanent basis (with a mandate to find a suitor)

What this means for VMS, I am not sure. The new guy/gal may announce
some changes fairly quickly, or it may take 2-3 years before his/her
plans become visible.

A change of CEO is always a time when a corporation gets to re-examine
in what businesses it really wants to be. Curly zapped Pfeiffer's plans
for Compaq to become an enterprise company.
