Exactly which setting(s) are you objecting to?  I'll be happy to change 
it if doing so doesn't adversely affect my use of Mail and/or News. 
Thunderbird Help does not recognize the expression "quoted printable"!

AFAIK, I'm not doing anything differently than I have for the last four 
or five years.  Why is it suddenly a problem??????
