The media has told the HP board that Wall Street Casino Analysts
wouldn't mind someone with a vision/innovation/charisma instead of a
quiet but efficient administrartor.

The fact that the Board decided to put Andreesen in the selection
comittee is sending the message that the HP board is open to someone
with some innovative DNA. They are aware that HP is seen as a boring
ink/wintel company with a crippled R&D which simply follows what intel
and Microsoft tells it to do.
