Isn't it amusing when some ideological capitalists have problems with
the word "socialism" and yet have no problem dealing with communist
China? I guess "some" of these people will put aside their ideology as
long a "they" can make a buck. Meanwhile, the rest of us need, and
want, jobs.
History tells us that ancient Rome collected "customs and excise" in
order to protect domestic workers from cheap imports. This was also
one of the reasons for building the great wall of china: not for
fending off military attacks but collecting trade tariffs. Since
history usually repeats, then I submit that America's employment
problems have nothing to do with either George W Bush or Barack Obama.
It has everything to do with numerous free-trade aggrements foisted
upon an unsuspecting public in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

I don't believe politicians knew what was going on at the time and
blame much of this on the 25,000 Washington lobbyists). Today,
whenever a manufacturer can make more money by employing cheaper labor
(or evading local environmental laws), just jump to a different
country because you will not be penalized with added import tariffs.
