My point is that lots of code moving from VAX to Alpha had granularity
errors. Most notabily VMS itself. One of the reasons that many source
modules had to be modified when porting VMS from VAX to Alpha. The Macro-32
and BLISS language definitions have rules that prevent the compilers from
automatically adding alignment bytes between items. (BTW, I'll add COBOL to
the list as well, I forgot on the my prior email).
