This is *not* an error, per se. This is just the current
calculated error-bar on the time (pretty good, after all,
0.977 msec :-).

You didn't say what version of TCPIP Services you're
running, but on my systems, running VMS/Alpha V8.3
and TCPIP Services V5.6 - ECO 3, my .LOG files
show the same messages (but with a real date),
for example:

31 Aug 05:59:31 ntp[583010357]: offset: 0.001360 sec freq: -2.423
ppm poll: 10
24 sec error: 0.001502
31 Aug 06:59:43 ntp[583010357]: offset: 0.000418 sec freq: -2.469
ppm poll: 10
24 sec error: 0.001845
31 Aug 07:59:56 ntp[583010357]: offset: -0.001766 sec freq: -2.670
ppm poll: 1
024 sec error: 0.001520

(watch for line wraps in the above...I can't control
Google Groups posting...)

So I'd say everything is fine. The message you show
is normal logging.
