I presented ELF talks at several OpenVMS Technical Bootcamps in Nashua. Do
you have the PowerPoint slides? The pictures might help you get an
understanding.
ELF itself is a System V thing you can get at SCO
http://www.sco.com/developers/gabi/
The link I have to the Itanium-specific ELF relocations is broken (I sent
email to Intel with the broken link). Fortunately for you, there is nothing
Itanium specific.
However, the formats and the types of the '.note' entries is
OpenVMS-specific. My understanding was that the ELF information was going
to be inserted into the OpenVMS Linker manual for V8.4 but that was my
understanding over a year ago. Things may have changed.
Send me email at john dot reagan at hp dot com and I'll see if I can dig up
more stuff.
John
