But the reply was a bit of humour as well. You're joke applied to 
"normal" Test Match Cricket which does indeed last for days and 
frequently ends in a draw (England vs South Africa test just finished in 
a draw for example). The IPL tournaments (such as the one mentioned in 
South Africa) however are limited 20 over games which are over in hours 
rather than days and almost guarantee a result (weather permitting).
