I don't consider 8.4 to be the "next" version. It is the 2009 version
that has been delayed for various reasons and scaled down (IPsec for
instance).

OK. I found a December 2008 version of the roadmap. That one also
stopped naming verstions at 8.4. Has has a couple of pages removed, and
they forgot to remove some text below graphics.

There are lots of minor tweaks. Many of the products are going to be
based on a newer base code. (for instance, the proprietary version of
Apache will be based on 2.1.x instead of 2.0.x)

There are many things removed, and some moved from being in 8.4 to being
in "Future releases". RTR is now being ported to Linux for both front
end and back end. Seems that RTR still has some level of importance.

And they did push the end of "standard" support for 8.3 by one year (now
sometime in 2012)
