Did you try the debug logical names to log the communication between
DCPS and the printer ?

Looking at what was sent between the end of your postscript file and the
end of communication might reveal the cause of the diamond.

Is it possible that the job terminates "properly" but spurrious
characters are sent afterwards and the printer switches to some other
protocol and then prints the page when the connection is dropped ?
