Was Digital's Ultrix considered a Unix even though it wasn't "Unix"
compliant ?

There have been plenty of OS around that looked like, smelled like and
behaved link "Unix" despite being unable to call themselves "Unix" due
to various copyright issues.

Sorry folks, But Linux is just another Unix to me.  It has a Unix user
interface, unix commands etc.

On tha Basis, Unix is doing very fine thank you.


And Arne, you may dimiss Apple because of laptops etc (you forgot the
iphone and ipod touch which also run unix), but don't dismiss their
servers. They have had some rankings in some of the supercomputer
listings a number of times.
