I would suggest you do a full INITIALIZE/ERASE.  For a 146gb drive it
would take about three hours to completely test every block on the
drive.  If you have free disk slots in the system chassis or an
external array then you can have a few of them running at the same
time.

Just doing a plain INITIALIZE and transferring a few files won't tell
you if there are bad blocks someplace else on the drive.  It would be
very painful to find out a few months from now that one or more of the
disks is bad, you've lost data, and you no longer have any recourse
with the seller.
